Sarah VanHorn

My clients are curious. They are passionate. And they often struggle with perfectionism and self-compassion. As a result, they often feel disconnected from themselves, others, and the world. Through person-centered modalities, I assist clients on their journey of changing old beliefs and unsticking themselves from habits, routines, and practices that block authentic flourishing.
I approach therapy as a practice of inviting and welcoming all parts of oneself. My approach is casual and relational. As a trauma-informed therapist, I utilize EMDR, attachment theory, experiential theory, and nervous system-informed approaches in the therapeutic space. I believe that healing is more than addressing current challenges and past traumas; it’s also about self-exploration, identifying joy, growing, and reintroducing play. As a secular therapist, I respect all beliefs and faiths without using religious or spiritual frameworks to guide the therapeutic experience.
I am accepting new clients from anywhere in Kansas. I only offer online counseling services to reduce barriers to accessing care. I practice under the supervision of Cassandra Walker, LCPC, LCAC.
